Senior Instructor – Sempai Tracey
When my son started training at IGKS and I joined in with the adults classes. Not long after, I volunteered to assist with the teaching in his class. In mid-2012, Sempai Taia approached me with the proposal to assist with the running of the Maddington Dojo when she was away for the birth of her child. With some trepidation, I accepted. I was supported by the other Sempai’s and enjoyed the experience. I am currently one of the senior instructors and assist in instructing all grades of students at Maddington Dojo.
I enjoy seeing students of all ages and abilities grow and flourish. I am working on improving my knowledge of the syllabus and continuing to push my fitness levels to new heights. I believe learning karate can benefit anyone of any age, ability or fitness level. It can lead to enhanced confidence, flexibility of mind and body and improved personal safety. The ideals of karate teach respect, diligence, perseverance and awareness of others. Maddington Dojo gives students the opportunity to be part of a dedicated and motivated team that teaches traditional karate skills with the addition of modern fitness training techniques.
Assistant Instructor – Sempai Lauren
I have been training with IGKS for four years now, although my passion for martial arts has been a lifelong one. Karate is a fantastic sport focusing on discipline, individual
improvement and self-awareness; IGKS makes this personal journey one of enjoyment, support and camaraderie. As an instructor, my goal is to help each student achieve their best, find their strengths and encourage their growth both as a person and as a student of karate.
Junior Instructor – Sempai Emma
Hey, my name is Emma, I’m 14 and I’ve been training at IGKS karate for around four years. Karate is a good way to get fit and boost your confidence. I love doing karate. Recently I was invited to become a Sempai instructor. I love being a Sempai, it’s awesome to see others doing their training and being able to help them out with their techniques. The instructors and students you train with are so nice and caring. It will be amazing when I go
for my black belt and have my fellow peers there grading with me, we have gone on this karate journey together. IGKS has taught me to be a more confident and a strong lady.
